Job Evaluation For Life - Isaiah 43:18-19

Last night’s “Super Tuesday” and hearing Hillary Clinton’s numbers brought back some disappointing memories for me. My point is that it is easy to be caught up in the day-to-day things of life. Then something happens, such as someone mentions a name, a situation, or the newscaster tells a story that brings back a memory of long ago. We remember the way things were. Possibly, we remember something that may be good or bad, that brings joy or sorrow. I find this so true in my life when dealing with people and problems. The question so often asked, "Remember the good old days?" It is not bad to remember past events in our lives, but it is quite another to want to live that memory over and over again! We often say, "Things were always better back then.” Whether they were or not, the fact is, we will probably never really know?

The problem I see in our country is a need for change. My thought on that is I do not care how it was done before, or in some other place, or some other time. The fact is something new is needed. Whether it is a new outlook, a different perspective, or a new way of looking at life in America.

Here is a verse of scripture I want us to read and pray about today.
Isaiah 43:18-19 "Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past. "Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert. "

If we do what the scripture says, we could experience a change! Here is what could happen:
• We could like our job;
• We could have a different perspective in our relationships;
• Our home could become new, making it a place of comfort to come home to after a busy day.

Our outlook on what is going on around us has to be changed.

I pray verse 18 each morning, “Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past.” By doing this simple act, it will bring about a change of attitude; life will not be so overwhelming. There are times when we really feel defeated, but there is always a way out of that wilderness. Now when we remember the past, we must also remember it is just that, the past. We should no longer let the past dictate or overshadow the present or our future.

The main thing we need to learn from our experiences is that through obedience, we look forward instead of looking backward, expect the good, and trust that the Lord will provide. Take and place into your heart verse 19a, “Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth;” Take this as a promise from God. I pray for guidance, assurance and they will come through the affirmation of God’s Word and God's people.

I do a lot of writing, such as sermons, this blog and so much more. I have learned to rely on and trust in the Lord to give me what I need to write; what He wants me to write. I do not try to write as I have written before. However, I do use life experiences as they relate to the scripture. Life experiences are learning experiences. Once learned they are to be used and I try to apply them to the situation. However, remember, let God instruct you and know that not every thing will be the same for every situation. God has something new for us to learn,for us to be aware of, as well as for us to be.

What waits for you, what waits for me? (I want to place emphasis on the bolded areas of scripture.) God continues to say, " Behold, I will do something new , Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert. (19b).

Let us pray that through obedience we will continue to see His direction and be aware of His love and grace brought forth through the wilderness.
