Berkley tells U.S Marines to leave. The City Council of Berkley, California voted 6-3 at the end of January 2008 to tell the U.S. Marines to leave its local recruiting station. The Council was quoted saying, "is not welcome in the city, and if recruiters choose to stay, they do so as uninvited and unwelcome intruders." To make matters worse, the council is officially encouraging the disgusting left wing lunatic group, Code Pink, which is a women-initiated grassroots peace and social justice movement working to end the war in Iraq, by assisting them in their anti-agnostic campaign against the military. In a separate item, the council voted 8-1 to give Code Pink a designated parking space in front of the recruiting station once a week for six months and a free sound permit for protesting once a week from noon to 4 p.m. The Mayor went on to say, “The marines do not belong here, should not have come here, and they should leave.”What would happen if they substituted certain other groups, races, religions of the country in place of the “Marines”? In a country that seemingly continues to grow more liberal and anti-God, how long before some mayor or other politician says, “The Christians do not belong here, they shouldn’t have come here, and they should leave?” The Bible says in Matthew 22:21, “Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's;” We are to pay our taxes, obey our government, and submit to authority. Let us raise the question, “Where is the ACLU?” They show up for everything else. Remember, this is the city that took the flags off the back of their fire trucks because they did not want to offend anyone. Well I am personally offended!
My nephew, Chad, served his country and recently got out of the military. I am proud to say he is a U.S. Marine. My deceased brother-in-law, Chad’s father, was a U.S. Marine. My good friends, Roy D. and Bob M., are former U.S. Marines and currently serve in the USV-JSC. These cowardly, dishonorable, and ungrateful people personally offend me.
This is a prime example of why we should all vote and moreover, know the beliefs of the people in which we are voting for. Residents should be ashamed to be associated with such idiotic political attacks against our country’s soldiers. I am grateful for all who have and are serving our country and their families. I am praying for my two loved ones in Iraq.
