Tell the Times

Is it a sign of the times?The staff and I are reading the book The Bait of Satan by John Bevere. Read Matthew 24:10-13:
"At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another. Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. Because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.”
Jesus is giving the signs of the end of this age. I believe we would all agree we are in that time period. Jesus said we would know the season.
The New York Times steps out and blasts Senator John McCain in a romantic relationship with a lobbyist. John McCain emphatically denies the allegations. Today we see more media distortions of what the truth is than ever before. It is all about trying to sell papers. Fox reported that the New York Times received over 2000 negative e-mails expressing concern over the Times news article.
Politics seem to bring out mud slinging with an attempt to gain advantage by putting someone else down.
Senator Barack Obama and Senator Hillary Clinton are getting along. They have the exact same message. Scary! That is a sign of the times, I’m sure.
The Bible says “A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city, and contentions are like the bars of a citadel.” Proverbs 18:19
When we hurt one another, it is hard to break down the walls of protection we put up. The walls are seen in distrust, resentment, bitterness and skepticism. We become offended and our focus is inward and introspective. We become guarded and we are cautious of personal relationships.
So one of the signs is troubled relationships. Betraying one another and even hating one another.
