One Historical Night

The fiasco in Florida with the hanging chads was bad; we waited for George Bush to be declared the winner over Al Gore. Then we had John Kerry & John Edwards, two lawyers running for President and Vice-President; and then there were questions raised about Kerry’s service record while serving in Vietnam.

Now, mile high stadium hosted an historical night with Senator Barrack Obama accepting the Democratic Nomination to run for President of the United States. Barrack and Michelle seem to be a warm and loving couple carrying the message of hope and change to a country that has not seen success since Bill Clinton, according to the Democrats. Senator Barrack Obama’s speech was an oratory example of capturing a crowd’s attention and working them. His life and testimony are inspiring to all from what he has accomplished. This is not to be underestimated; it needs to be taken seriously.

Much will hinge on Senator John McCain’s choice for Vice-President. I think it could be former Governor Mitt Romney, Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, Tom Ridge (former Secretary of Homeland Security) or former EBay CEO, Meg Whitman. Romney would bring Utah, a strong Mormon state; he might even pull Michigan with his roots their. A woman might bring some former Hillary supporters.

If we do not get a pro-life VP candidate, it would make the Evangelical church not as important; rather doctrine and theology are only as relevant as you believe. As a church and Christian believers we need to wake up . We need to become more involved in what we want for our families.

Let’s continue to pray for God’s leadership and guidance and for God to bless America.
